Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna elevates the seeker’s perspective from seeing Him as merely a personal guide to recognizing Him as the transcendent, eternal ground of existence. By defining Himself as 'ajam' (unborn) and 'anadim' (beginningless), Krishna invites the seeker to contemplate the Divine as the ontological reality that stands outside the causal web of time and space. The soul, lost in the 'martyeshu' (world of mortals), typically identifies with the temporary, but true knowledge involves piercing the veil of Maya to realize that the Supreme Lord is the sovereign master (Maheśvara) of all existence. To know this is not an intellectual exercise, but a radical shift in consciousness where the seeker ceases to see themselves as a victim of fate and begins to perceive the Divine hand directing the cosmic play. This 'asammudhah' (undeluded) vision acts as a purifying fire; when one realizes their own source is the infinite, the accumulation of past karmic imprints (sarva-papaih) loses its grip, as the seeker aligns their will with the Divine order. It is the realization that the finite self is actually the Infinite playing in the realm of the transient.
True liberation arises when the soul awakens from the delusion of temporal existence to recognize the Eternal Divinity as the unchanging Lord of all worlds.
