Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Shri Krishna transitions from the metaphysical description of the Purushottama—the Supreme Being who transcends both the perishable material world and the eternal individual soul—to the practical application of this knowledge. To be 'asammudhah' (undeluded) means to be completely free from the false identification with the body and the limited ego. When a seeker realizes that the Divine is not merely a distant force but the inner Controller of all existence, the intellectual understanding of 'Sarva-vit' (all-knowing) naturally culminates in a surrender of the entire personality. This realization dissolves the barrier between the Knower and the Known. True knowledge is not merely scholarly, but a transformative fire that consumes all traces of separation. By recognizing Krishna as the Purushottama, the seeker moves beyond the dualities of worldly life, perceiving the same Divine essence in every aspect of creation. This is the synthesis of Jñana (knowledge) and Bhakti (devotion); the devotee does not worship out of fear or desire, but from a state of complete, unwavering alignment with the source of all being. To worship with 'sarva-bhavena' is to offer every thought, action, and breath back to the Supreme, realizing that the worshiper, the act of worship, and the Worshipped are manifestations of the same supreme consciousness.
The highest state of enlightenment is the recognition of the Supreme in all things, which naturally dissolves the individual ego into a total, surrendered devotion.
