Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Bhagavan Krishna reveals the immanence of the Divine within the apparent dualities of creation. By identifying Himself as Prahlad among the demons, Krishna subverts our conditioned expectations; He demonstrates that the Divine spark is not restricted to specific lineages or virtuous groups but manifests where there is pure, unalloyed devotion (Bhakti). Prahlad serves as the ultimate archetype of this transformative faith, proving that the Absolute can reside even in the heart of one born into a 'demonic' (asuric) nature, provided the consciousness is anchored in the Supreme. This is a profound reassurance for every seeker that spiritual liberation is an internal quality of the heart, not an external label of birth or social standing. Furthermore, by defining Himself as 'Time' among those who control and the 'Lion' among animals, Krishna asserts His sovereignty over both abstract metaphysical forces and the raw, untamed aspects of nature. Time is the great devourer that humbles all human ambition, while the Lion represents the supreme potency and majesty of the wild. Krishna is teaching Arjuna to shift his perspective from viewing the world as a collection of fragmented, independent objects to perceiving it as a tapestry of divine manifestations. This vision of Vibhuti Yoga (the Yoga of Divine Glories) acts as a bridge, helping the seeker move from the worship of a distant God to the experience of a God who is the underlying essence of every form, force, and noble quality in the universe.
True divinity is recognized not by external appearance or lineage, but by the presence of unshakeable devotion and the awareness of the singular, controlling power of the Divine in all forces and beings.
