Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna continues his Vibhuti Yoga, or the yoga of divine manifestations, guiding Arjuna to shift his perception from the objects of the world to the underlying Presence that sustains them. By identifying himself as Brihaspati, the preceptor of the gods, Krishna illustrates that all wisdom, guidance, and spiritual authority are ultimately emanations of his own divine consciousness. He is the source of the intelligence that structures the cosmos and the moral laws that govern it, suggesting that whenever we encounter profound wisdom or leadership, we are experiencing the grace of the Supreme residing within those forms. By naming Kartikeya, the general of the celestial army, Krishna acknowledges his role as the source of dynamic power and organized action, asserting that all victory and strength in the universe belong to him. When Krishna identifies himself as the ocean, he evokes the imagery of an infinite, unfathomable, and restless yet peaceful depth that contains and nourishes all other bodies of water. This metaphor shifts the seeker's focus from the finite, transient nature of life to the vast, encompassing divinity that supports all existence. It serves as a spiritual practice in contemplation: recognizing that everything majestic and powerful is a reflection of the Divine, allowing the seeker to cultivate constant remembrance of God amidst the daily experiences of life.
True spiritual vision reveals the Divine not as a distant entity, but as the core excellence and infinite depth manifest in all significant aspects of the created universe.
