Sanjaya said, Having thus spoken, O king, the great Lord of Yoga, Hari (Krishna), showed Arjuna His supreme form as the Lord.
Deep Meaning · English
In this pivotal moment, Krishna is explicitly identified as 'Maha-yogeśhvara'—the Master of all Yoga. This title signifies that His ability to manifest the Vishvarupa, or Cosmic Form, is not a mere display of supernatural power, but a natural expression of His essence as the controller of the creative energy of the universe (Maya). By choosing to reveal this form, Krishna moves beyond the intimate friend-to-friend relationship He holds with Arjuna, transitioning into the role of the supreme cosmic architect who encompasses all existence, time, and space within His own being. This unveiling serves as a radical transformation of the seeker's perception; it strips away the limited, localized view of reality to reveal the divine substrate upon which the entire play of duality rests. For the seeker, this signifies the necessity of a 'divine eye' (divya-cakṣu) to see past the mundane, transient appearances of life and perceive the indwelling Supreme Reality that sustains all beings simultaneously. The act is not merely an external manifestation; it is an internal revelation, showing Arjuna—and by extension, the devotee—that the Lord is the beginning, the middle, and the end of all manifestations.
True spiritual realization involves shifting one's vision from the fragmented world of appearances to the realization of the singular, all-encompassing Divine presence that holds all existence within itself.
