Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna reveals the profound subtlety of the divine administration of the universe. He acknowledges that when a devotee approaches a lesser deity or a specific form of the divine with unwavering faith (shraddha), they are not acting outside the scope of the Supreme. Krishna graciously clarifies that the faith itself is granted by Him, and the desired results—the fulfillment of worldly cravings—are sanctioned by Him alone. This underscores the non-dual truth that all prayers, regardless of their immediate focus, ultimately terminate in the Supreme Brahman, who assumes the roles of the grantor, the giver, and the witness of all action. It is a testament to the infinite patience of the Divine, who meets the seeker exactly where they are, allowing them to traverse the path of desire before they are ready to seek the Divine as the only desire. By sanctifying these worldly petitions, Krishna gently guides the soul, showing that even in the pursuit of material ends, the seeker is subtly tethered to the Divine order.
All faith is a divine gift, and every fulfillment of desire is an expression of the Supreme Lord’s grace, gently guiding the soul toward ultimate surrender.
