Deep Meaning · English
This verse marks a radical shift in the Bhagavad Gita’s discourse, moving from the rigid requirements of ritualistic duty to the boundless, self-actualizing power of devotion. Krishna is asserting that the transformation of the soul does not depend on the slow accumulation of merit over lifetimes, but on the intensity of one’s surrender to the Divine. By declaring that the devotee 'quickly becomes righteous,' Krishna suggests that bhakti serves as an alchemical agent that burns away past karma and reconfigures the seeker’s moral core from the inside out, granting them a permanent state of peace that is no longer subject to the fluctuations of the material world. This is not a transactional promise; it is an ontological assurance. By asking Arjuna to 'declare' this truth, Krishna elevates the devotee’s status to a sacred covenant, suggesting that the Lord stakes His own divinity on the protection of those who seek refuge in Him. It is a profound invitation to move from the fear of failure to the absolute security of Divine love, where even one’s past transgressions are rendered irrelevant by the sincerity of one’s current longing for the Infinite.
Surrender to the Divine is the fastest path to holiness, as it shifts the burden of perfection from the individual's effort to the Lord's unconditional grace.

This explains the mechanism of surrender; one can only cross the insurmountable divine illusion (Maya) by taking exclusive refuge in Krishna.
This verse reinforces the unshakeable bond between the Lord and the devotee, stating that he who sees Me everywhere never loses sight of Me, and I never lose sight of him.
