Deep Meaning · English
In this pivotal verse, Lord Krishna unveils the zenith of yogic realization: the shift from viewing the world as a collection of fragmented, separate entities to perceiving the unbroken, singular reality of the Brahman. When the practitioner's consciousness is anchored in yoga, the veil of maya—which creates the illusion of 'otherness'—dissolves. The seeker no longer merely looks at the world with physical eyes; they perceive the indwelling Self (Atman) vibrating within every atom of existence, and simultaneously witness the entire manifestation of the cosmos contained within that same Self. It is the realization that the 'subject' who sees and the 'object' being seen are one and the same reality, manifesting through infinite forms. This 'sama-darśhana' (equal vision) is not a mere intellectual exercise in tolerance, but an ontological revolution. It is the state where the distinction between the sacred and the profane collapses, as the divine consciousness is recognized as the substratum of all things. Arjuna is being invited to transcend the dualistic conflict of the battlefield and step into the transcendental perspective of the Sage, where one recognizes that to serve another is to serve oneself, and to harm another is to harm one's own soul. This is the bedrock of non-dual devotion, where the love of God is expressed as an unwavering reverence for all of creation.
True spiritual vision is the radical realization that the individual soul and the entire cosmic manifestation are inseparable, resting eternally within the same Divine substratum.
